How we sell
MySmartCoPilot sells one-time passes. Here are the sales tricks that consumer law forbids, and what we do instead when we sell a pass.
What we do instead
- False urgency. No countdowns, no “only today” and no “only N left”.
- Basket sneaking. Nothing is added to your order: you pay for the one pass you chose, at the price shown with its term.
- Confirm shaming. Every way out says plainly what it does, such as Close, Back or Not now, and never makes you feel bad for leaving.
- Forced action. You don’t need an account, an app or a survey to see a free preview or to buy a pass.
- Subscription trap. Passes never renew. There is no autopay or mandate to cancel.
- Interface interference. No pass or term is highlighted, recommended or chosen for you, and the buttons of the passes and terms you choose between look the same. Close always closes. Ads from ad networks never sit beside or directly below a tool.
- Bait and switch. Before you start, a paid tool says what its free preview shows, what stays locked and the price of a pass with its term. The preview is made from your own file or input.
- Drip pricing. Prices in rupees are paid through Razorpay with Indian payment methods such as UPI and cards issued in India. The price shown is the total you pay: no fees or charges are added at checkout. Prices in US dollars are paid through a merchant of record, which handles sales tax, VAT and GST for your country and shows the total before you pay.
- Disguised advertisement. Ads are labelled “Advertisements” or “Ad”, sponsored placements “Sponsored” and our own offers “From MySmartCoPilot”, and affiliate links are disclosed in our affiliate disclosure.
- Nagging. The ways to unlock open only when you press a locked button or Ways to unlock. Nothing pops up by itself to sell you a pass.
- Trick question. Plain sentences. No pre-ticked boxes and no double negatives.
- SaaS billing. Nothing is charged again. Near its end, your pass shows when it ends, without a timer.
- Rogue malware. Nothing downloads or installs by itself. No scare messages. No ad or link takes you somewhere you didn’t choose.
