    About the Attendance Calculator

Enter the classes held so far and how many you attended, and the calculator shows your attendance percentage and what it takes to reach your target — 75% by default, the figure many colleges use, or any other. Below the target, it tells you how many classes in a row you must attend to get there; at or above it, how many you can miss and still stay there, with the figure you would end on.

Add the number of classes still to come this semester and you also get the fewest of them you must attend, the most you could still reach and where you would end if you missed them all. If your college counts attendance per subject, add each subject: every one gets its own answer, and the total of all subjects is shown too.

    How to use it

    1. Type the classes held so far and the classes you attended (from your college portal or register).
    2. Set the target attendance your college requires, for example 75.
    3. Optional: add the classes left this semester to see what you need from them.
    4. For a per-subject rule, add each subject under Each subject — they all use the same target.
    5. Copy result or Download CSV to keep the figures.

    Examples

    Below 75%
    Input
    45 attended of 70 held, target 75%
    Result
    64.29% — attend the next 30 classes in a row: 75 of 100 = 75%
    Above 75%
    Input
    60 attended of 70 held, target 75%
    Result
    85.71% — you can miss 10 classes in a row: 60 of 80 = 75%
    Semester projection
    Input
    45 of 70 attended, 40 classes left, target 75%
    Result
    Attend at least 38 of the 40 (83 of 110 = 75.45%); you can miss 2
    A decimal target
    Input
    45 of 70 attended, target 75.5%
    Result
    Attend the next 33 in a row: 78 of 103 = 75.73% (32 would give 75.49%)

    The formulas

With A classes attended out of H held and a target of T%:

    • Attendance = 100 × A ÷ H
    • Classes to attend in a row to reach the target: x = ⌈(T × H − 100 × A) ÷ (100 − T)⌉ — each class you attend adds one to both A and H, so you need 100 × (A + x) ≥ T × (H + x).
    • Classes you can miss in a row: y = ⌊(100 × A − T × H) ÷ T⌋ — missing adds only to H, so you need 100 × A ≥ T × (H + y).
    • With R classes left: attend at least k = ⌈(T × (H + R) − 100 × A) ÷ 100⌉ of them (at least 0, at most R).

The calculator keeps the target as an exact fraction, so a target such as 75.5% gives exact answers, and it rounds the class counts the safe way: up for classes to attend, down for classes to miss.

    Overall or per subject?

Colleges differ: some require the minimum in every subject, others on your total. If yours counts per subject, a high total does not protect a subject that is short — add your subjects and look at each line. The total of all subjects is the sum of the classes attended divided by the sum of the classes held, so subjects with more classes weigh more.

    Limitations

    • It counts classes, not hours: if labs count double or some sessions are excused (medical, sports, duty leave), adjust the numbers the way your college does.
    • The required percentage, and what happens below it, are set by your college or university — check its rules.
    • Whole numbers of classes only, up to 1,00,000.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my attendance percentage?

    Divide the classes you attended by the classes held and multiply by 100: 45 of 70 is 45 ÷ 70 × 100 = 64.29%.

How many classes do I need to attend to reach 75%?

    Attend x = ⌈(75 × held − 100 × attended) ÷ 25⌉ classes in a row. With 45 of 70, that is ⌈(5250 − 4500) ÷ 25⌉ = 30 classes, giving 75 of 100 = 75%.

How many classes can I miss and stay above 75%?

    You can miss y = ⌊(100 × attended − 75 × held) ÷ 75⌋ in a row. With 60 of 70: ⌊(6000 − 5250) ÷ 75⌋ = 10, which leaves you at exactly 75% (60 of 80); one more would drop you to 74.07%.

Can I still reach 75% this semester?

Type the number of classes left. If even attending all of them keeps you below the target, the calculator says so and shows the most you can still reach.

Why does attending one class raise my percentage so little?

Because each class you attend also counts as one more class held. The further you are below the target, and the more classes have already been held, the more classes it takes to catch up.
